San Francisco Shock win Overwatch League Grand Finals

The team have become back-to-back champions.

Following a wild tournament of some of the best Overwatch we've seen all year, the San Francisco Shock have become the Overwatch League Champions for the second year running.

Across the Grand Finals event, the Shock looked dominant from minute one, defeating most of their competitors in a striking fashion. By knocking out every remaining Asian team, the Shock stamped their ticket to glory, with a Finals result that can only be described as incredible.

The surprising storyline came from the Seoul Dynasty however, who looked to be the second strongest team in the tournament, due to an unbelievable performance from star DPS, Joon-Yeong "Profit" Park. Despite being regarded as a long shot, compared to the other teams, the Dynasty, who fell to the Shock in round one, ended up pushing the Philadelphia Fusion and Shanghai Dragons out of the tournament, when they both dropped to the lower bracket.

As a final bit of good news for the Shock this season, DPS player, Nam-Ju "Striker" Gwon was awarded the T-Mobile Grand Finals MVP, for his performance over the weekend. After receiving the award, Striker stated to the Overwatch League; "Getting this Grand Finals MVP does have a lot of special meaning to me. I honestly thought any of my other teammates who played in the match would have gotten it, but I'm super grateful and very thankful to be the one chosen."

This marks the end of the Overwatch League's third-season, with the fourth expected to begin early next year.
