The International Esports Federation (IESF) has announced the host country and city for the 15th World Esports Championship. The event will be heading back to Romania, but this time will be hosted by the city of Iași rather than the country's capital, Bucharest.
"We are so excited to bring the World Esports Championships back to Romania," said IESF president Vlad Marinescu. "The WE Championships have a rich history of generating international exposure for esports and uniting the World Esports Family, and the 2023 edition is expected to be the largest edition ever with at least 130 countries participating."
As for this year's event, Bali, Indonesia is still set to be the host, with the actual tournament planned for November 27 through to December 9. This will feature a $500,000 total prize pool, and will include a new Women's Division.
