Fortnite World Cup player removed from match for screen watching

An Epic representative said this came after multiple warnings, and was a violation of the official rules.

The Fortnite World Cup was one of the biggest esports events to date this past weekend, seeing plenty of big names fight it out for huge cash prizes, but it turns out one pro player was removed from a match after screen watching.

The official rules say that "during a match, players must keep their headsets on and only look at their screen," and that:

"Receiving outside assistance regarding the location of other players, other players'
health or equipment, or any other information not otherwise known to the player by the
information on his or her own screen (e.g., looking at or attempting to look at spectator
monitors while currently in a match)."

This is why Russian player Mark 'Letw1k3' Danilov was removed from a match in the World Cup, as a representative from Epic Games told Polygon. "After multiple warnings to the player, a penalty was assessed and he was removed from the match," they said. "He was not disqualified and will not be fined."

However, The Fortnite Guy reached out to Letw1k3, who told him that he only looked around because he heard a "slam" in Game 6, forcing a disqualification. He also claims dividers between the screens were really small, and that Epic gave him the wrong keyboard.
