Today marks the beginning of the Intel Extreme Masters Fall: Europe event, a tournament that brings the best teams from around the region to Stockholm in Sweden to compete for a $105,000 prize pool. Despite starting in a few hours, one of the teams, Endpoint, has announced that it is having to make some last minute changes to its competing roster due to facing VISA difficulties for travel.
"We are sincerely upset and disappointed to report that we have been unable to acquire a Visa for BOROS in time for him to compete at the IEM Fall event in Stockholm," states the team. "Due to the tight timescales between the closed qualifier and the event, along with other factors, and despite continuous discussions with the Swedish embassy and authorities, we have not been able to get a Visa processed."
The statement continues, "We want to make it clear that BOROS has not been denied a Visa and will be travelling to events and bootcamps with the team in the near future."
As for how Endpoint will be approaching the situation, the team has stated that it will be fielding its newly appointed coach Allan Hender as its fifth player for the tournament.
