Gen.G reveals brand new esports facility

Providing a base for business, player training, and more.
Sam Bishop 8 listopada 2018

Esports organisation Gen.G has revealed a brand new esports facility based in Seoul, Korea, including plenty of features to allow staff to work and train there, having already been visited by competitors like Team Liquid and Dignitas.

The seven-story facility is located in Gangnam and each team has their own dedicated training room within it, letting them train, analyse, strategise, and more. Two more boot camp rooms have also been provided for visiting teams, and players will live separately and commute to this venue, in an attempt to improve work/life balance. Sports psychologists and physical trainers are also included here.

"Our team culture is built on seeking out those players that want to be the best and are willing to put in the hard work to accomplish their goals, so it's important we give them enough outlets outside of the grind to stay healthy, both mentally and physically. This creates a much more harmonious and professional atmosphere as teams are given the space and training they need to re-energize but also a first-class facility where they can focus on their craft and put in the work required to become world champions," said Arnold Hur, Chief Growth Officer at Gen.G Esports.

Recreational areas, a cafeteria, and a player's lounge are there for when the teams aren't at work, with the latter including a cinema screen, table tennis, and massage chairs. Dedicated livestreaming rooms are also available to help build streaming careers too, and what's more is that the facility will also serve as the Korean base for Gen.G's business.

"Seoul is the heart of esports, and we knew we had to develop a world-class, player-first facility here if we were going to credibly claim our spot as a truly global esports team. Our facility gives us an edge that few other esports teams have, and we are excited to leverage this as we continue to expand our presence around the world. Combined with our upcoming Los Angeles HQ, we feel we are the best equipped esports organization that can act as a bridge between Eastern and Western esports," added Hur.
