Riot suspends Sinatraa for six months for failing to comply to police investigations

Sinatraa will also be required to complete professional conduct training.

A few weeks ago, Jay "Sinatraa" Won was accused of sexual assault and was immediately suspended from the Sentinels Valorant roster until an investigation was completed. Riot themselves also looked to conduct an investigation, until the matter was referred to law enforcement, when the publisher/developer decided to take a step back and let the correct authorities continue.

Recently, a post from Riot has stated that there has been no "definitive conclusion" on the matter, but that the competitive team had "serious concerns" with the way Sinatraa conducted himself during the investigation.

"It was determined that on at least two occasions Sinatraa misrepresented certain facts, made false statements, and did not cooperate with the investigation in a way expected of a professional VALORANT esports player," reads the statement. "Of note, Sinatraa's public commitment on social media to provide the full audio and video clip referenced in the original post was never fulfilled. Cooperation in these investigations is of the utmost importance, especially when the nature of the allegations is as serious as sexual assault. This behavior will not be tolerated by VALORANT Esports."

Because of this, Riot has taken action and has suspended Sinatraa for six months, a ruling that is considered to have started when he was initially suspended on March 10, 2021. The suspension is expected to lift on September 10, 2021, meaning should no further decisions or revelations come up, Sinatraa will be able to return at the end of Stage 3 Challengers season, even for the final Masters tier event. He will however, have to complete "professional conduct training prior to being able to return to play."
